As part of our 35th anniversary celebrations and to celebrate the Coronation, Cogwheel Counselling is organising the Cogwheel Cambridge Coronation Stride, a special community walking/running event taking place on Sunday 7th May 2023 during the Coronation Weekend. We also hope the event will promote the importance of mental wellbeing.
The Stride is a 27-mile self-guided walk around the perimeter of Cambridge, with shorter options of 13 and 6 miles for walkers and runners. The Stride uses the historic River Cam as the spine of the walk, with Grantchester Meadows as its most southerly point before it rejoins the Cam past Stourbridge Common on the northern part of the route. The Stride passes through a number of charming Cambridgeshire villages.
All entry proceeds from the Stride will go to help meet the cost of the event and support Cogwheel in its mission to provide affordable mental health counselling for individuals and families in Cambridgeshire.
Cogwheel would very much like to encourage walkers/runners taking part to obtain personal sponsorship for Cogwheel, and free entry is available for anyone committing to a fundraising target of £100.
Full details, including an outline of the route and how to be part of this special community event, are on the event website.
