About our workshop
Sandplay, Sand Worlds, Sand Tray and Sand Box – what are they?
Lynne will begin the workshop by explaining the different approaches to using the medium of sand in therapy with children, adolescents, adults and seniors.
Next will follow a brief talk on what equipment is needed and how to support a client who expresses a wish to work in a sand try, as well as how to witness and track the process then move towards closing the sand work experience.
Sandplay work offers clients the opportunity to work through, often non-verbalised worries, trouble, and traumas, at a point in the therapy when they may be ready to do so. As this fascinating process unfolds it potentially offers a different understanding of situations presented because several unconscious streams can be seen to intertwine in the tray – that is, if we know what we are seeing and witnessing!
The workshop will be discussive and experiential in nature with the opportunity for each participant to create two sand trays.
