The Cogwheel Canter Running Festival provides a successful end to 2023

New Year’s Eve saw the third Cogwheel Canter Running Festival, as around 500 runners of all ages and their families and supporters gathered at Girton Recreation Ground.

The event had something for all ages and abilities, with 10k, 5k and 2k races, along with a 200m toddler mini-run for the under-5s.

It was an amazing turnout – an increase of 140 on last year – and we were even lucky with the weather, with the rain holding off until right at the end.

Well done to all that took part, and in particular our race winners – results for the 5k and 10k races will be available soon on the Cogwheel Canter website.

The event raised over £2,750 for Cogwheel, giving us a great start to 2024. Thank you to all the volunteers that helped make the event happen, and event sponsors Avanit, Archangel and Redmayne Arnold & Harris.
