The majority of our work is with adults, and we work individually and with couples.
We offer short, medium and long term work which ranges from twelve sessions to two years and more and the length of time is determined at the point of assessment.
Whilst we are deeply respectful of Cogwheel’s Christian heritage today the team of counsellors are a mix of people some of whom are Christians, some of other faiths and some with no faith. We offer a secular service and do not provide Christian counselling though we are able to refer elsewhere on request.  Our services are provided regardless of gender, ability, sexual orientation, transgender, race, ethnicity, ability, belief or faith, and are aimed at individuals, couples and children. Whilst we try to be inclusive, we’re are not able to provide the kind of specialist help needed for chronic and enduring mental health issues. Nor can we work with addictions as there are agencies who are better equipped to support people whose primary difficulties are with drug and alcohol issues.
We signpost people where necessary and there is a link to various agencies in the community who can provide alternative sources of help and advice. (See our Links page for more information)
We provide counselling in a number of venues namely Norfolk Street which is the main hub and other sites at Sawston and Ely Library and we also deliver counselling to schools.
