Cogwheel Cambridge Striders raise £1,600

Returning for its second outing, the Cogwheel Cambridge Stride took place on Sunday 18th May. With ideal weather conditions for walking, 79 Striders arrived to walk either 6, 13 or 27 miles around the perimeter of Cambridge, collectively raising £1,600 for Cogwheel.

Some Striders had taken part in the 2023 Stride and were impressed with the updated route. For many others it was their first extensive walk, and they appreciated the opportunity to walk through some parts of Cambridgeshire that they wouldn’t normally see.

Cogwheel’s Fundraising Manager, Neil Davies, commented “It was wonderful to see a strong turnout to enjoy the beautiful Cambridge countryside while supporting our fundraising efforts. Amidst the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, Cogwheel’s mission to provide accessible counselling remains crucial. The funds raised today will ensure we can continue supporting the mental wellbeing of individuals in Cambridge and its surrounding areas.”

Huge thanks go to the entire team responsible for planning and delivering the Stride, the volunteers who assisted on the day, and of course to all the Striders whose efforts helped raise a fantastic amount to help us continue providing affordable counselling for people in Cambridgeshire.
