Training Workshop: An introduction to Working Therapeutically with Survivors of Domestic Abuse

Cogwheel Counselling is hosting a one-day, in-person training for therapists looking to deepen their understanding of domestic abuse and develop their trauma-informed practice when working with survivors.

This introductory workshop explores the different forms domestic abuse can take and the lasting impact on survivors’ relationships, sense of self, emotional wellbeing and recovery, including the complexities that can continue after separation.

The day will consider common challenges within therapeutic work and introduce practical approaches to building trust and safety, psychoeducation and supporting survivors as they make sense of their experiences and rebuild their lives.
